Project Manager

Scope

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing multiple building automation installation projects and maintaining positive customer relationships.

Duties

  • Coordinate and manage multiple automation installation projects while remaining very organized.
  • Maintain project accounting and contracts.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company, clients, subcontractors
    and other contacts.

Qualifications

Service Technician

Scope

A Building Management Systems Automation Technician is responsible for providing service and maintenance of Building Automation Systems. The technician may also respond to service requests and emergencies as assigned and is expected to maintain positive customer relationships.

Duties

  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS systems.
  • Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct supervision.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to evaluate service needs, maintain proper scheduling and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor customer buildings to ensure optimum performance standards are being achieved. Fine tune systems as new programs and sequences are developed.
  • Identify opportunities for additional building enhancements and perform upgrades and/or small scale retrofits on existing systems.
  • Perform building surveys and work with Service Manager on estimating additional work.
  • Perform necessary software programming, equipment start-up, tuning and calibration and commissioning of building management systems.
  • Effectively provide feedback to supervisor for ways to improve the installation process.
  • Utilize Automated Logic’s Dealer website and stay current on technical data and solutions for existing problems and updates.
  • Sell value added Service to improve and enhance the customers Building Automation System.
  • Stay informed of industry developments for energy savings strategies.
  • Be proficient in knowledge of following equipment: VAVs, Exhaust Fans, Unit Vents, AHUs, Hot Water Systems, Chiller Water Systems, and Lighting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years field experience in the HVAC controls industry including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration and experience with pneumatic controls.
  • Knowledge of Automated Logic Controls commissioning tools and field circuit debugging skills a plus.
  • Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical fields.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, AutoCad, various operating systems.
  • Proven track record of completing projects, being self-motivated and achieving customer satisfaction.

Systems Engineer

Scope

The Systems Engineer is responsible for producing timely and accurate control system submittals for mechanical engineering approvals, generating controller software sequences, building workstation and server database with graphics and reporting tools. The Systems Engineer possesses technical competence on integrated systems and the ability to resolve or guide others through very complex problem resolution.

Duties

  • Develop BMS software databases in accordance with engineering documents and project specifications.
  • Design, integrate and support network migration for Internet / Ethernet / BACnet / Lonwork / Modbus platforms.
  • Maintain accurate As-Built drawing package and make changes in AutoCad, Visio, Excel and Word as required.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company team of managers,engineers and technicians, the client and consulting engineers.
  • Value engineering recommendations where appropriate.
  • Working with consulting engineering community to foster personal and company growth and maintain design discussions throughout the build process.
  • Conduct surveys and generate repair recommendations and reports to customers.
  • Develop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending and billing programs.
  • Conduct self-study to improve knowledge of required job skills and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, Math or Physics
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the HVAC controls industry, DDC controller programming, third party devicen integration with BACnet and Modbus.
  • Mechanical system operation and optimization
  • Understanding of the construction process.
  • Strong communication, negotiating and organizational skills.
  • Competency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Automated Logic WebCTRL experience a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.

Automation Controls Technician

Scope

The Automation Controls Technician is responsible for installation start-up and commissioning of building HVAC automation and control systems. The technician may also respond to service requests as assigned by Service Management and is expected to maintain positive customer relationships.

Duties

  • Perform necessary point to point check-out, commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, servers, electric and pneumatic controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
  • Efficiently edit computer programs for building automation system points such as determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.
  • Implement energy conservation measures by utilizing and/or modifying the existing building automation system features i.e. mathematical computation and environmental controls.
  • Perform any assigned preventative maintenance, repair and emergency service calls.
  • Maintain project related documentation including but not limited to commissioning documentation, daily reports, as-builts and status reports.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company, clients, subcontractors and other contacts.
  • Assist in Junior technician evaluation and training.
